Started exploring froyo on samsung galaxy s. Here’s first instalment…

1. Input Method …  New pointer makes it really easy to place cursor and do the selection and cut copy operation which was otherwise difficult with finger.

2. Indian languages… Support for jungian languages were conspicuous by its absence. It’s DISAPPOINTING. We were attributing delay in launch partly to this feature :(

3. Contact application… Finally when you pickup contact some where in intent, say from the galary, shortcut or for sms you have search option which was absent earlier. I had to scroll my long list of 1200 contacts. Another great feature is ability to show even those google contacts which are not part of “My Contact” Category.

Disappointing, however, the search option is missing on link contact page. Why?

4. Coloured icons? Heard froyo has new coloured icons in settings. I couldn’t locate them. What am I missing?   I got the colored icon after another hard reset.

By the east I lost colours from my bluetooth icon. Ours no more blue. It’s now black.

5. Active wallpaper… A new wallpaper called beach.really good. But where is wave? Why do you need to remove it. I had to download it from net all over again.

More in next instalment…
